Research Associate in Infectious Disease Assay Development

We have an immediate opening for a research associate in infectious disease immunoassay development, optimization and characterization.  The position requires a BA or MA in biochemistry, microbiology or similar life science with 2-5 years bench experience in assay development.  Responsibilities will include antigen production, protein purification and characterization, immunoassay development and evaluations, and GMP-level documentation.  Successful candidates will have demonstrated ability to troubleshoot scientific protocols and be able to take the initiative to independently analyze scientific data and problem solve.  The ideal candidate would have experience with microtiter plate assays, working knowledge of protein chemistry, immunology and microbiology, and have familiarity with serologic and other immunoassay techniques and methods.  Hands-on experience with infectious disease assays and pathogens is a plus.  Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.  Facility with Microsoft Word, Excel and the Windows environment is required.  We are looking for an individual who is experienced working in an R&D team environment and is comfortable working closely with QA and regulatory personnel to ensure product compliance.
